Spiral boning is formed of a continuous, flattened spring of galvanized steel wire. It holds as firmly as flat steel boning, but its clever construction allows it to flex in multiple directions, making it useful in curves and on the diagonal. It also works well at the sides of a corset, because it can emphasize the waistline without putting too much stress on the lower ribs. It is not suitable for places where a straight, rigid line is needed, such as along lacing lines.
Cut spiral boning to the desired length with wire cutters; you’re working with steel, so you’ll want quality wire cutters that can manage 2 to 2.5 mm (10- to 12-gauge wire). Snip a single wire at a time, or you’ll ruin your blades. Finish the ends with end caps.
Sold in lengths of 10 meters. This boning is 5 mm wide.
This product is also available at a discount in the remnants section. Quantity in stock: 0.78m, 0.63m
