KATIYA SILK FABRICS – Wild silk for a natural look stiff
Katiya natural silk fabric is made of wild silk. Katiya (also katia) is derived from the cocoons of the same wild silk moth as tussah silk and non-violent silk muga, but utilizes the short, soft silk waste filaments. These are spun into the thick, irregular katia yarn, from which this unique fabric is woven. Its inimitable, homespun charm is strengthened by the fact that it is truly woven by hand in the traditional manner. Wild katiya silk can be used for sewing apparel or home decor.
