This fusible interlining is made up of a heavy cotton canvas backed with a layer of quality adhesive that activates when exposed to heat (a hot iron). This backing adheres well to fabric without making bubbles. Because it is woven, it inhibits stretching. This heavyweight variant provides extra stiffness.
This fusible interlining is useful for adding stiffness to fabric and to help it hold its shape better. If you are sewing a corset, choose a stiffening layer that will yield the final result you desire, whether you’re going for an extremely sturdy fabric or just want to add a little support to your fashion fabric. If you want to achieve the stiffness of a corset coutil, then this heavyweight fusible interlining can give you results even when paired with a medium-weight fabric like dupioni or taffeta.
Heavyweight cotton canvas like this can be used to make bags and totes. If you want to make a handbag or clutch out of dupioni or brocade, reach for this heavyweight interlining.

Iron in a slow, steady movement from the center of the piece to the edge. Press down firmly on the iron; pressure is as important as heat when applying fusible interlining. If the fashion fabric allows, garments incorporating this interlining may be washed warm (40°C or 104°C) or dry cleaned.
Generally, pre-shrinking is needed for linen, cotton, and rayon, but for finer fabrics (light rayon, Tencel and modal) proceed with care – don't use hot water or a hot iron, simply launder the fabric the way you will be laundering the completed garment.
